December 2008 Letter from the Prez

“The most successful people are those that are good at plan B,” James Yorke. That quote seems to sum up my experience as your president of SARA over the last year. With all the issues of events, documents, equipment, and meeting space, I have had to become better at plan B. Plan B for the Eyeball QSO is the Stillwater Public Library. We will meet in the Margaret River Room A at 6:00 – 8:00pm starting January 8. I hope more people will join us for the Eyeball QSO at the new location.

The repeater committee has been working on fixing the repeater but the circular filter they tried did not work. They have also eliminated the antennas as a source of the problems and concluded it is a site issue. I have directed them to find a new location, and new/used equipment for the new location. We’ll have to see what they come up with.

Elections for SARA Officers will be at the January meeting. Email, snail mail, and phone votes can be sent to Shel N0DRX (trustee@radioham.org). All positions are open for candidates. Please see Shel’s email/article on procedures.
