Two VE Sessions Scheduled for May 2010
The SARA VE Team has two VE sessions scheduled in May. Keep in mind that the Technician question pool will be changing on July 1st, so if you have been studying from the current question pool, this would be a great opportunity to get your initial ham license.
The 1st of these exams will be on May 6, 2010 at Boutwells Landing. Registration will begin at 6:30pm with exams to begin at 7pm. Boutwells Landing has two addresses, one for the south entrance and another for the north entrance. The north entrance must be used for this exam session and I suggest using google maps rather than mapquest when looking up the location online. Mapquest shows the location to be further to the west, than it actually is. Boutwells Landing is located to the south of Walmart, and the address for the north entrance is: 13375 58th Street North, Oak Park Heights, MN 55082
Our 2nd exam session will be held on May 27, 2010 at Camp Courage - Maple Lake. This session is being held in conjunction with the Handiham Radio Camp. While our main focus will be to offer exams to the campers, exams will be available for non-campers as well. Exams at this session are scheduled to begin at 9am. The address for Camp Courage - Maple Lake is: 8046 83rd Street NW, Maple lake, MN 55358.
Exams for all license classes will be available at both of these exam sessions. Be sure to bring a photo ID. If you currently have a ham license or a CSCE that you intend to use toward an upgraded license, you must also bring those original documents as well as photocopies or each. The current exam fee is $15 cash, or check made out to the "ARRL-VEC" and is payable upon registration. You should also bring at least one pen (blue or black ink) and a regular pencil.
