W0JH Repeater - standby and backup power

The W0JH repeater infrastructure now has standby, automatically switched, backup battery power allowing extended full duty cycle run times while not supplied from the AC grid.

AC grid power can be removed or restored during normal repeater transmission without effect upon receiver/transmitter operation or audio. This allows for 100% duty cycle transmission of the repeater at its 25W output for a period of 4 hours.

After the backup battery bank reaches approximately 55% state of charge, the repeater firmware will automatically switch to its low power level and the battery bank will provide for an additional 8 hours of 100% duty cycle transmission at the low power level.

In the event that a long term AC grid outage occurs, the electrical supply implementation allows easily and quickly to disconnect from the AC grid and connect to a 240V generator.
