Use Logbook of the World to get QSL credit

You can use the ARRL’ s Logbook of the World (LoTW) to get award credit.
The Logbook of the World is a repository of log records submitted by
users from around the world. When both participants in a QSO submit matching
QSO records, the result is a QSL that can be used for ARRL award credit.

Logbook of the World can accommodate every possible user scenario. It makes no difference
if you operate from home, portable, mobile, maritime, DXpedition or whatever,
Logbook of the World can be setup to properly process your logs and match QSOs
for all of your operations. Visit http://www.arrl.org/lotw/ for more details.
With Logbook of the World you do not get a nice printed QSL card. However,
you can use http://www.qrz.com to search for the desired call. Many hams have
added their QSL picture to their information. In addition you may find it interesting
to see a map were the ham is located. Just “Click for more
detail...”, then click on “Explore on GridMap”

Some amateur radio software such as MacLoggerDX automates this process. Here
is what happens:

  • The DX clusters interface displays the station on graph for the band.
  • Clicking the station on the graph does the following:
    • If the station is not in the log, announces the station.
    • Tunes the transceiver to the frequency.
    • Looks up the station and displays information about the station such
as country, person’s name, distance, coordinates and lots of other
      information.
    • Selecting a menu item takes you directly to QRZ and enters the station
for the search. You then see the information for the station.
    • After making a contact you press a button to log the contact.
    • Later you export the log in a format suitable for Logbook of the World.
