I'm writing this to all who have not sent back their ballots on the Constitution vote. Please send them back to our Treasurer with your vote or come to the General Meeting next Saturday to exercise your right to vote. Quite a bit of work has gone into improving the Constitution so that we can help our Club to grow. If we don't get 2/3's of our members voting for the changes, it will not pass. All is not lost as we still have a Constitution but we will not be able to move ahead with our plans for 501C(3) approval as changes in the Constitution have to be approved in order to satisfy 501C(3) rules.
Some background may be in order: Several years ago, we were approached by a large company in Washington County. They asked if we could use their support in obtaining equipment that would enhance our abilities to respond to emergencies in time of public need. We eagerly agreed to accept their support but they had to decline the offer when they learned we did not have 501C(3) status. Without that designation, they would not be able to take a business deduction on their Federal and State taxes for the amount they had intended to give us.
Since that time, we have been working towards that goal and it is now within reach IF YOU VOTE! Please take a little time to send your vote back now. I know this sounds like a broken record but it's imperative that we receive your vote as every one counts!
